Pumpkin Spa Day at Home

by Marge Maghoney

So it's December and if it were any other time of the year, you'd be in a pumpkin coma.

You've had pumpkin lattes, pumpkin frapuccinos, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin mochi, pumpkin EVERYTHING. And STILL you cannot get enough of it.

So you decide it's not enough for you to simply consume these fall delights but think it would be a great idea to actually smother yourself with it.

Right on.

Let's keep calm and pumpkin on.

So for today, I'll show you how to treat yourself and create a space of luxury in your own home while enjoying this beloved fruit of the season.

It doesn't break the bank and after you get the essentials, you have enough left to recreate this experience for several more weekends until you're sick of it and decide to jump on the christmas bandwagon.

So let's go.

1. First you'll need to set the mood. To get into this right away, you'll need to SMELL it. Inhale the heck out of it until you feel transported to a pumpkin patch in Half Moon Bay. Fire up a Pumpkin Cake candle ($12.50) from Bath and Body Works and soak in that warm and sweet aroma.

2. Next, run a warm bath or take a shower in warm water using a divine smelling Pumpkin Soap ($5.97). Take your time. Lather this sweet creamy goodness on your face and body. Rinse off.

3. Now we move forward to what I personally enjoy the most. Exfoliation. I love scrubbing all the crap away and feeling my skin immediately softer right after. Try some of Mojo Spa's Pumpkin Spice Face and Body Scrub ($15). Yup. You read it right. May be used on your face and of course your entire body. Rinse off.

4. Oh no, we're not forgetting your hair. You want to take that smell with you for the rest of the day and a whiff of pumpkin is just one hair toss away. For this, try Doctor Sweet Tooth's Marshmallow Pumpkin Sulfate and Paraben Free Shampoo and Conditioner Set ($14). It smells unbelievably amazing and effectively cleans and moisturizes your hair and scalp.

5. At this point, you'r ready to get out of the tub or shower. The fun ain't over as we move our focus on to your face. Crimson Hill's Pumpkin Mask ($17.50) does a perfect job in nourishing your skin. Apply a thin layer, leave for 5 (or 10 minutes as I would) and rinse off.

6. We're close to the home stretch. Last but not least, we take care of your beautiful lips with our power couple. First, exfoliate with this drool worthy Pumpkin lip scrub ($8.97). It immediately sloughs away dry flakes on your lips. Rinse off, pat dry and apply our matching Pumpkin lip balm ($4.97).

For less than $80, you can have this pumpkin themed spa experience at the comfort of your own home AND recreate it over and over for the rest of your weekends in this nice and crisp sweater weather.
